About Dhikala Safari Zone

Dhikala is one of the most well-known tourism zones of Jim Corbett National Park. It is recognized for its expansive grasslands, dense forest areas, and scenic views of the Ramganga River. The zone is popular among wildlife enthusiasts due to its natural landscape and biodiversity.

Dhikala features a mix of:

Wildlife in Dhikala

The zone is home to a variety of species, including:

  • Royal Bengal Tiger

  • Asian Elephant

  • Leopard

  • Gharial and Mugger Crocodile

  • Spotted Deer, Sambar, and Hog Deer

  • Wild Boar and Otters

  • A wide range of resident and migratory birds

Dhikala is the only tourism zone in Corbett where Canter Safari operates, as per forest department guidelines.

All safari services are conducted by authorized third-party operators and remain subject to official permissions.


Safari Timings

Safari entry timings vary according to season and forest department regulations:

  • Morning Safari – Early morning hours

  • Evening Safari – Afternoon until sunset

Exact timings are determined by the forest department and may change seasonally.


Best Time to Visit

Dhikala Zone is generally open from November to June, depending on weather conditions and forest department decisions. The zone usually remains closed during the monsoon season.


Entry Gate

Primary entry is through Dhangarhi Gate, Ramnagar.
